 KPCC - TELEVISION SPOTS

KPCC is Southern California public radio.  I was consulted during preproduction on three commercials for KPCC.  These original commercials are located under the "89.3" column on this page. Each spot features on-air talent holding a microphone with a mic flag; a mic flag is that little box on the mic with the radio station numbers on it.

The commercials were so well received that KPCC wanted to use two of them for a different market. But in that new market, KPCC's station numbers are 89.9 and not 89.3 like in Los Angeles.

It wasn't long before the production company asked me the question, "Hey Adam, rather than us reshooting the commercials, can you just change the station numbers on the mic flag?" I said yes.

First we had the talent go into the sound booth, and re-record their lines with the new station numbers. I edited the audio on each spot, and then remixed the sound. Then I went in and, frame by frame, digitally changed  the numbers on the mic flag for each commercial.  And in only a few thousand frames, I was done!  Unless you're really looking, the changes are pretty hard to detect . See what you think.
